RoadTripBuddy support

What the app does

• Create a trip with origin and destination (typed, map search, map pin, or Apple Maps link import)
• Spot checklist items and browse regional facts (bundled packs)
• Play trivia and the alphabet game (optional spoken answers)
• Share a family invite link via the iOS share sheet

It does not provide turn-by-turn directions, speed display, or medical advice. Keep the device with passengers, not the driver.

Permissions

• Microphone & Speech Recognition — only if you use the Alphabet mic. You can type instead. Manage under iOS Settings → RoadTripBuddy.
• Location permission — RoadTripBuddy does not request continuous location access. Map search and pins use Apple MapKit when you use those screens.

Offline and network

Checklist, bundled facts, trivia, and alphabet play are designed to work without a mobile signal once content is on the device. Features that need a network when you use them include Apple Maps place search, resolving some Maps short links, opening landmarks in Maps, and loading these web support pages.

Family invite

Share with family builds a roadtripbuddy:// invite containing route text and pack IDs, then uses the system share sheet. There is no Arrow Health “join server”. Recipients need RoadTripBuddy installed to open the link.

Content packs

Starter content is free. State packs may be preview-unlocked while StoreKit purchases are not live. When paid packs ship, billing and refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com).
