RoadTripBuddy terms of use
Last updated: 27 October 2026
These terms explain how you may use the RoadTripBuddy iPhone and iPad app. They are written for people in Australia.
Your licence to use RoadTripBuddy
RoadTripBuddy is licensed to you under Apple’s Standard End User Licence Agreement (Standard EULA). These terms and the Privacy Policy add information specific to RoadTripBuddy (including Australian Consumer Law notes, content pack purchases, and how on-device trip data / location / speech work).
If these terms conflict with Apple’s Standard EULA on the licence to use the app, the Standard EULA prevails for that licence. These terms still apply to the extent they cover topics the Standard EULA does not (and to the extent Australian law requires).

1. Who provides RoadTripBuddy
RoadTripBuddy is provided by ARROW HEALTH SOLUTIONS PTY LTD (trading as Arrow Health Solutions), ABN 27 698 339 454, ACN 698 339 454, QLD 4165, Australia. In these terms, “we” and “us” mean Arrow Health Solutions.

2. What RoadTripBuddy is (and is not)
RoadTripBuddy is a passenger entertainment companion for family road trips. It helps passengers spot checklist items, browse regional facts, play trivia, and play the alphabet game.
- It is not a navigation product and does not provide turn-by-turn directions or a speed display.
- It is not intended for use by the driver while driving. Keep the device with passengers.
- It is not a medical product and does not provide medical advice.
3. Who can use RoadTripBuddy
RoadTripBuddy is designed for families travelling together. A parent or carer should control the device, App Store account, and permissions (including microphone and location). You need an Apple Account and must use the App Store under Apple’s terms. We do not collect date of birth or verify age in the app; Apple’s account and purchase rules still apply.
4. Free Starter
The free Starter works without an Arrow account. Your trip play data is saved on your device, and we do not run a server that receives that database. Starter content is capped (for example one starter trip and a limited content pool). Completing the first starter trip does not require a purchase.
5. Optional location (Spot It pins)
If you use Spot It map pins, the app may ask for Location When In Use so passengers can pin where they spotted items. Pin coordinates stay on your device and are not sent to us. If you refuse, spotting still works without pins. The app does not request Always location and is not turn-by-turn navigation. See the Privacy Policy for detail.
6. Optional microphone and maps
- Microphone and speech recognition are optional and used only for Alphabet answers. You can type instead. On-device recognition is required when the device supports it; otherwise Apple’s speech service may process audio under Apple’s terms.
- Place search, map helpers, Open in Maps, and Maps link import use Apple MapKit / Apple Maps. Those features may send map queries to Apple. They are separate from Spot It When In Use pins, which stay on device.
7. Family invite
Share with family builds a roadtripbuddy:// invite (route text, pack identifiers, and related trip metadata) and uses the iOS share sheet. We do not operate a join server. Recipients need RoadTripBuddy installed to open the link. Do not put sensitive personal information in origin or destination fields.
8. Optional content packs (In-App Purchases)
- Optional Australian state and territory content packs are non-consumable In-App Purchases. They are not an auto-renewable subscription.
- Starter content remains free. There is no all-Australia country bundle offered at this release.
- The price and billing are shown by Apple in the App Store / purchase sheet before you buy.
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Apple collects payment. We do not receive your card details.
- You can restore purchases in the app. Deleting the app does not remove your App Store purchase record; use Restore purchases after reinstall.
- Any unused portion of a paid purchase, billing dispute, or refund request about an App Store charge is handled under Apple’s App Store purchase / refund rules (and the Australian Consumer Law where it applies). For billing or refund requests about an App Store charge, use Apple’s purchase tools first (for example Report a Problem).
- Nothing in these terms removes your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. We will not tell you that ACL remedies never apply.
- Owned packs unlock that pack’s content for offline play subject to these terms and Apple’s rules. Buying one state pack unlocks that pack only.
- Your licence to use the app is under Apple’s Standard EULA; these terms and the Privacy Policy give RoadTripBuddy-specific detail. Privacy Policy: https://arrowhealthsolutions.com.au/roadtripbuddy/privacy
9. Using RoadTripBuddy properly
- Use RoadTripBuddy for personal passenger entertainment, in line with these terms and Apple’s terms.
- Do not use the app as navigation, a driver HUD, or while you are the driver operating a vehicle.
- Do not copy, modify, or reverse engineer the app, or try to unlock paid pack content without paying.
- You are responsible for your Apple Account, device permissions, and purchases.
- Do not put sensitive personal information in trip origin/destination fields or family invites.
10. Intellectual property
We (or our licensors) own RoadTripBuddy, including its name, design, software, and bundled pack content. Your right to use the app comes from Apple’s Standard EULA. These terms do not transfer ownership to you. Your trip play data on the device belongs to you. Apple, App Store, and Apple Maps are trademarks of Apple Inc. All rights not expressly granted in these terms or Apple’s Standard EULA are reserved by Arrow Health Solutions.
11. Ending use
You can stop using RoadTripBuddy at any time by deleting the app. Purchased non-consumable packs remain associated with your Apple Account under Apple’s rules; you can restore them if you reinstall.
We may stop offering RoadTripBuddy, or restrict or suspend access, where reasonably necessary because of: (a) your misuse of the app or breach of these terms; (b) a legal or regulatory requirement; (c) a requirement or action by Apple; or (d) security, fraud, or safety concerns. Where practicable, we will give notice before we do so.
If we withdraw RoadTripBuddy from the App Store, any refund or unused-value questions for App Store purchases are handled under Apple’s App Store purchase / refund rules and the Australian Consumer Law where it applies.
12. Australian Consumer Law
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You may be entitled to a replacement, refund, compensation, or other remedy where required by law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or modified.
13. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. §12 applies in full.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when you agreed to these terms, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control (including failures of Apple’s App Store, MapKit, Apple Maps, or speech recognition services).
Your licence to use the app under Apple’s Standard EULA is a separate relationship with Apple. Nothing in these terms limits any rights or remedies you may have against Apple under that EULA or Apple’s policies.
14. Governing law
These terms (the relationship between you and Arrow Health Solutions) are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. This does not remove any consumer rights you have under the laws of the place where you live.
Subject to any non-excludable rights you have where you live, the courts of Queensland and of the Commonwealth of Australia have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising under these terms as between you and Arrow Health Solutions.
Your licence to use the app under Apple’s Standard EULA may be governed by the law stated in that EULA (often including California law for the Apple relationship). That does not change the governing law of these terms as between you and us.
15. Changes to these terms
If we make material changes to these terms, we will update this page and the date at the top before they take effect. Where practicable, we will also give reasonable additional notice (for example in-app once available). Changes will not reduce your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
If you do not agree to material changes, you should stop using RoadTripBuddy (see §11).
